This year, something inspired Gabe to bake lots of stuff for Thanksgiving. Perhaps it’s his wife’s lack of skills in the kitchen. Or maybe it’s his insatiable cravings for all things chocolate with a side of chocolate. It might have been that Paula Dean cooking show grandma turned us on to…whatever it was, here’s a quick documentary of our Thanksgiving Eve in the kitchen:
Jen starts with peeling and chopping apples and cuts her finger in the process, as she always does whenever she cooks anything. It’s a given.
Gabe busts out the cocoa powder, chocolate chips, chocolate squares and butter, butter, butter….
6 hours, 2 emergency runs to the grocery store, and 1 bailout phone call to mom later…
We have mint chocolate brownies (FROM scratch, mind you! Go Chef Gabe Go!), double chocolate cream pie, Dutch and American apple pies. Heaven has come to earth.
And the next time you see us, there just might be a little bit more of us to love
