Time continues to fly by and in just one month, our darling girl will be 1! So I figured it was time to hurry up and post the 9 month session. Because Selah has an outrageously cute wardrobe, there were many outfit changes. We have the classic white onesie, the teddy bear towel, the blue and white handmade outfit from Grandma Ruth, the darling floral dress and green ruffled shirt and jeans (AND cute felt blocks) from fabulous client Amy, our polka-dot-tutu bathing suit from yours truly, the squeezingly cute one piece shorts outfit from fabulous client Robyn, the checkered diaper cover (and adorable Pottery Barn Kids butterfly mobile) from Grandma Sue, and last but not least, the birthday suit. By 9 months, baby girl was crawling, sitting, clapping and laughing at everything. Needless to say, she was a riot to photograph in her room and in our backyard! Enjoy a few of our favorites below!

Selah’s 1st Birthday » Hillebrand Photography Blog - [...] In typical first-time-mom style, I decided to go completely overboard with my baby’s first birthday party. With so many ideas on Pinterest, how can you not? I was able to find a few very talented artists to aid in creating the cutest dang party I’ve ever thrown. First, there’s the amazing shabby-chic birthday banner from Nicole of Bliss Banners. Then there’s the the cutest, most well-crafted cake topper on the planet by Chiara of Molasses Candy. Finally, there’s the scrumptious, fluffy peach pettiskirt from Pigtails and Pearls. All of these amazing people worked with me to custom-create the perfect pieces for my darling girl’s very first birthday. As far as the fabric streamers, cupcake toppers, food tents, painted birthday signs, party favors, and food: I DIY-ed it with my super-talented mother-in-law, Ruth (who also made the darling birthday crown) and BFF Kat. It was a labor of love that took many, many hours and was a project that brought me so much joy. A few days after the big party (and a huge thank you to my “second mom” and fellow photographer, Lee, for picking up my camera at the party and shooting some of the beautiful candids you’ll see below), we did her final Baby’s First Year session (tear). The first year came and went so fast! It was the most difficult and best year of my life. To recap it, you can check out all of her sessions: newborn, 3 months, 6 months, and 9 months. [...]
