Selah: 3 Month Session

Time continues to race by and our baby girl is getting bigger by the day! Literally. Because we’ve been so busy we haven’t had a chance to work on our own personal projects, such as Selah Gabriel’s 3 month portraits which we photographed in November. Next month she will be 6 months old already and that is another photo shoot! Ah well. So goes our lives with a baby and a business in tow. Here are a few favorite snapshots from our little peanut’s 3 month session! Enjoy!!

2011 Year-in-Review

Since a picture is worth a thousand words we decided to sum 2011 up with some of our favorite pics of the year, professional and personal. In addition to shooting our usual portion of weddings and portraits, we moved into our first house, got our first dog, and had our first baby. It was one.crazy.year…filled with amazing clients, gorgeous imagery, and many blessings. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU to all who have chosen us and continue to choose us to document your most precious events, moments, and people. Your lives inspire us. Looking forward to more beauty and life in 2012!

Introducing Selah Gabriel

On August 28th of this year, at 2:59 am, we welcomed our beautiful little girl, Selah (pronounced “say-la”) Gabriel, into the world. She was 7 pounds, 7 ounces, 20 inches long, and especially alert for a newborn. We think she’s a prodigy, but then again, we might be a little biased. Her name is from the book of Psalms and the Hebrew definition is still largely unknown. It has been said to mean “to pause and reflect,” “musical crescendo,” “to discern and perceive truth,” “praise and lift up,” “true gold,” and “forever.” It’s a mysterious word and that might be one of the reasons we love it so much. Below are some highlights from her newborn session, and no, it was not easy photographing our own child! In fact, it was the hardest newborn session we ever did. She is not an easy baby. Good thing she’s cute. We also had to sneak a few pics of the nursery in there since we spent so much time putting it together. Blake & Sloan

Get ready to OD on cuteness. Sloan and Blake (who you may remember from Sloan’s newborn session) are at it again, being adorable, charming the camera, and making me laugh. We had so much fun shooting at their grandparent’s gorgeous Washington Township backyard. Mom and Dad, Amy and Beau, were awesome to work with as they kept things hopping with wardrobe changes and warming up the pool water. I think all of us slept well that night! Semlows: You guys rock. I adore you and your kids and had so much fun working with you again!! Lori Gill’s Grandkids

Messy. Madness. Much fun. These are the words that come to mind when you consider taking five adorable kids under the age of three and running after them with a camera. It was an absolute riot photographing Lori’s beautiful grandchildren on a dewy summer evening. (A few of whom you may remember from previous sessions: Reagan and little brother Jack.) Adorned in white, eyelet dresses, the baby girls were beautifully vintaged-looking and kissable. In their classic Polo shirts and khakis, the baby boys were all too squeezable. This session really was a lot of fun! Gill family: It was such a joy and a pleasure working with all of you and your gorgeous little ones. Nina & Alexa

It is always so great to photograph the gorgeous Nina and Alexa. It has been such a blessing to see them grow over the past few years! It’s amazing that 3 years have gone by already since we first photographed Nina at 3 months old! She’s quickly growing from toddler to childhood with little sister Alexa following along. Both girls are absolutely beautiful, just like their parents. They are also full of laughter, goofiness, and love! Our favorite part about this session is the chaos…Real-life, family chaos that we were happy to beautifully capture. Moments with your young children are fleeting and before you know it, Nina and Alexa will be off to college, so catching little moments like the ones below are so important. This is life and it is beautiful. So, without further ado, enjoy a few of the highlights from the session!

Jack Timothy

Super cute Jack, baby brother to Little Miss Reagan (who you have undoubtedly seen throughout our blog and site), made his big debut to the world on January 31st, 2011. Weighing in at 8 pounds and with a length of 20.5 inches, he’s very healthy little boy! It was so great to see Robyn and Mike again and to see how their family is growing and expanding. It seems like just yesterday we were photographing Reagan’s 3 month session, and now she’s a full-fledged toddler with a new baby brother! Little Mr. Jack: We wish you all the blessings in the universe for a healthy, happy childhood and look forward to many more photo sessions with you as you grow through the years. We are so glad to present your adorable newborn session! Sloan Jean Louise

Little Miss Sloan was born last fall to proud parents, Amy and Beau and big brother Blake. You may remember them from their big family session last fall. It was so much fun to photograph them again! They are a beautiful family, inside and out. And Sloan is about as adorable as they come. Just one week after entering the world, we had the joy of working with her on her first big photo shoot. She was a real trooper, quietly napping for most of the time. It was tons of fun to pose her in cute knitted hats, compliments of Olive Juice Boutique. Nina & Alexa

It’s always fun to photograph these girls: Big blue eyes, dimples, and all around extreme cuteness! You may remember Little Miss Nina from her 1 year session last summer. Since then, there’s been a new addition to the family: Little Miss Alexa. At 3 months old for this session, she’s a ball of squeezable laughter and giggles! It’s so amazing to see our clients’ and friends’ families growing and expanding, and it’s such an honor to be able to capture snapshots of their lives over time. Have we mentioned that we love what we do?? At any rate, we had so many favorites from this session, so as usual, it was excruciating to narrow it down to a select few for the blog!
