2011 Year-in-Review

Since a picture is worth a thousand words we decided to sum 2011 up with some of our favorite pics of the year, professional and personal. In addition to shooting our usual portion of weddings and portraits, we moved into our first house, got our first dog, and had our first baby. It was one.crazy.year…filled with amazing clients, gorgeous imagery, and many blessings. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU to all who have chosen us and continue to choose us to document your most precious events, moments, and people. Your lives inspire us. Looking forward to more beauty and life in 2012!

Anna

We don’t know if Anna knows how beautiful she is. With a classic, elegant and mature sense of style, she is hilarious, goofy and down-to-earth girl. We had the pleasure of photographing her grandma and her family a few years ago when she was a sophomore. Now a senior at Marion High School, she’s on the Field Hockey team and has applications out to Ivy League colleges. It was an absolute joy working with her for her senior portraits! She had a ton of cute outfits, many of which were from Paris (ooh-la-la) where she spent some time recently. Needless to say, it was great styling and photographing her. Anna my dear: You should be a model. Seriously. It was so much fun working with you!! We love your photos and can’t wait for you to see them! Alexandra

Alexandra is a beautiful, confident and laid-back girl who’s in her senior year at Stoney Creek High School. A member of the varsity tennis team, her teammates describe her as “cool as a cucumber.” Alex loves outdoor activities (fall is her favorite season) and music (The Beatles, Rise Against, Linkin Park). We had a great time hanging out with her in and around downtown Rochester for her shoot on a perfectly sunny September day. It was so much fun to photograph this girl and all of her gorgeous, wavy hair! And special thanks to P.S. Cosmetics for doing another awesome make-up job! Alexandra: You are an amazing person and have so many good things going for you. We know that you’re going to go far and can’t wait to see what you do next with your life! Alex is a great kid who’s in his senior year at Henry Ford II High School in Sterling Heights. The youngest of three (TWIN older sisters, ha!) Alex loves his car, playing guitar, listening to punk rock, rap and country, dirt-biking, snowboarding, and hanging out. An independent guy, Alex scouted his own location, the George George Memorial Park (not a typo, the name is actually George George) off of Moravian Drive and wanted to include his car, guitar and super-sweet fedora into some of the shots. It was fun to shoot in a new location, and we loved making use of all the props, including the Clinton River which we found near the park. Alex: You are awesome. We had so much fun with you during your shoot! We’re so proud of you and we know that you’re going to rock at whatever it is you choose to do next with your life! Emily’s Senior Portraits

Working with Emily was so much fun. Confident, outgoing, witty and beautiful inside and out, she’s a fantastic girl who people just love to be around! In her senior year at Rochester Adams, Emily is on the track and cross country teams. She loves country music and hip-hop, the movie Zoolander (ask Gabe to show you his “Blue Steel” face sometime…) and hanging out with the people she loves. Emily also had a few unique ideas of what she wanted for her senior portraits, so props to her for thinking of railroad tracks! We love those images! In a plaid shirt and with the wind whipping through her hair, Emily looked perfect in that setting. We also want to extend a huge thanks to P.S. Cosmetics in downtown Rochester for another perfect make-up job! Emily dear: It was SO great getting to know you! We had a blast with you and we know that you’ll rock out whatever it is you choose to do next in your life. Thanks so much for choosing us to do your senior portraits. Meghan Elizabeth

It was an absolute delight to photograph Meghan for her senior portraits. She’s a beautiful, smart, quirky and tomboy-ish girl with a great sense of humor and a lot of love. Growing up in Royal Oak, it’s easy to see why Meghan is so cool. That, and she has an amazing set of parents, Tim and Marcia. Not to mention the adorable family dog with the same big blue eyes! Listening to country music, singing, hanging out in nature with her friends, and reading are among some of Meghan’s favorite things to do. It was a gorgeous, sunny day when we did her portraits and we were so excited to capture the beautiful, glowing sun-flares in some of her photos! Meghan: You are awesome. You have an incredible future ahead of you and we know that you are going to do amazing things with your life! Thanks for choosing us to photograph your senior pics, it was so much fun working with you! We’re super excited to present your images! We hope you love them as much as we do!

Valerie is a sweet and gorgeous girl who’s in her senior year at Cousino High School. A fan of Carrie Underwood and Rascal Flatts, she loves volleyball and hanging out with friends and family. Speaking of family, she’s related to one of our former engagement and wedding clients, Nick and Halie as well as the hilarious and all together lovable Conroy family. Everyone in this family is such a riot!! We had a great time hanging out with Valerie and her kindhearted mom, Patti, in downtown Birmingham on a warm, summer evening. The make-up artists in town at Todd’s Room did a fantastic job of bringing out her glowing, natural beauty. Valerie: You are such a beautiful girl, inside and out! We’re excited about all the fun things that are ahead for you in life. We know that you will succeed and flourish at whatever it is you choose to do! It was wonderful working with you and we’re so excited to present to you: your senior portraits! Enjoy!!

Rachel’s Senior Portraits

Rachel is a super sweet, fun, beautiful girl who we loved working with! She has a natural, young Brook Shields sort-of look with her dark hair, beautiful eyes and flawless skin. In her senior year at Stevenson High School, Rachel is laid-back and loves hanging out with her friends. It was a warm, summery evening when we met for her session in downtown Rochester. She brought along her hilarious and outgoing mom, Lisa, and her best friend. We had an awesome time making her smile and laugh, capturing gorgeous images of her! (Many thanks to our assistant Samantha for helping out!) Rachel: thanks so much for being a sweetheart. It was so fun meeting you and photographing you in this exciting time of your life! Your positive spirit will take you far in life and the journey has just started for you! Can’t wait to see where you’re going to go from here. Now without further ado, enjoy your senior pics!!

Janie’s Senior Portraits

This is the staggeringly beautiful Janie. A senior at Stoney Creek High School, she’s not only stunning on the outside, but she’s gorgeous on the inside, too. Janie is an incredibly wise, thoughtful, and mature girl who will surely do great things with her life and in the world. She’s also an incredibly gifted musician who brought tears to our eyes when we photographed her playing the violin. Not only that, she has the voice of an angel! (You may remember her from her leading role in SCHS’s production of Children of Eden last spring!) We also really want to thank P.S. Cosmetics in downtown Rochester for their fresh and natural make-up artistry! We’re so excited to feature her senior photos because they really show the depth and sincerity that Janie possesses. We love you Janie and are so looking forward to seeing where you go in life. It will be surely be amazing!

This girl is both cool and beautiful, not an easy combo to come by And did we mention her eyes?? HOLLA! They are electric blue.
