Amy & Mike

If we could get married again, we’d replicate Amy and Mike’s wedding. As the day unfolded, it was one favorite thing after another for us from the venue, the dress, the flowers, the food, the music, and the people. We might just photoshop ourselves into these pictures and pretend this was our wedding. So yes, Amy and Mike, who you may remember from their engagement session last fall, are married. And what a joy and a pleasure it was to document their day! There are so many wonderful vendors to acknowledge starting with the immaculate Misty Farms, the divine Pot and Box florals, the delectable Eat: Ann Arbor, Kathy, the superb day-of coordinator, and the amazing folk musicians from Red Tail Ring. Amy and Mike: THANK YOU for choosing us to photograph you in this incredible time of your lives! Your wedding was indescribably perfect and we will never forget it. You two are simply lovely individuals and we hope for nothing but the very best in your lives! We are so happy to present your wedding photos! Nate Marialke

It was so great to shoot again with the incredibly talented Nate and his lovely wife/fellow band member Kat. You may remember him from his 2010 session. He’s gained some traction in the music industry since then and is releasing a new album. As we were wandering around the Detroit riverfront looking for cool places, we stumbled upon this incredible, crumbling warehouse with a gritty piano sitting inside. No joke. It was like someone set it up for us. This is one of the reasons I love shooting with these guys, interesting things happen. It also doesn’t hurt that Nate has such a unique, distinctive look and Kat is just plain gorgeous. That, and they are simply awesome people to be around. Check out a few of my favorites below and click the link at the end for more!

Grace & Jim

The laughing and goofing off started immediately with Grace and Jim’s engagement session. These two are absolutely hilarious. At first glance, you wouldn’t guess that Grace, a Senior Analytics Manager, would be as silly as she is. Then there’s quiet, unassuming, chiropractor Jim, who also has a seriously silly side. I was giggling right from the start and didn’t stop the entire time. At one point while I was messing around with a lens, Grace and Jim got a little restless and decided to do some kung fu fighting. I told them that all moments are fair game when we’re shooting and that I’d probably put those pics on the blog. And so I did. See below. Then there were intoxicatingly beautiful, quiet moments where Grace looked like a breathtaking porcelain doll surrounded by the woods. It was such a diverse shoot with so many layers and unique moments. I loved working with these two and cannot wait to shoot their wedding in the fall! Enjoy some of the highlights and click the link at the end to see more!
